During the late summer, Los Angeles’s Jacyln Rachelle released her hater free single, “I Don’t Care”. Those are also the first words sung her newly released genre-bending EP that is a release of her inhibitions and musically testament to all of her eclectic influences. FutureHeavy is a combination of melancholy guitar riffs and empowering beats, a meshing of R&B and rock vocals and presents an overarching theme of reclamation.
“I had a lot of emotions I had to let go of at the time it was coming together and I put that into to music,” said Rachelle. No Questions, No Comments” is a raw exemplification of this as she lets it be known she is a woman who doesn’t want her time wasted.
“Free from the writing on the wall. Free, so watch me do it all,” lyrics sung by Rachelle on the last track on the EP. “Free” has a cathartic effect for the listener as Rachelle makes it clear that she is finally liberated from the barriers preventing her reaching from her full potential.
