No stranger to the “Front Lines” just like the second track of his album, Save Me I’m Drowning (SMID) which will be dropping tomorrow. Aaron Brown or his stage name variant of it AARNxBRWN — which I take is still pronounced the same. AARNBRWN has been busy both on the streets of RVA as an activist and in the creation of this album. I’m certain a lot summer occurrences of the have fueled this album and the timing of its release couldn’t be better with the decision of the election still pending. Brown raps from the soul as you can feel the discontent, struggle, and anguish with the world that shaped into the lyrically polished rapper he has become.

“Why you niggaz debating we failing youth, bullets sailing, crackers say we can’t teach em, we learn to shoot, ” rhymes the conscious rapper on the “Front Lines” that occurs the verse before the sample of powerful speech by Louis Farrakhan featured on the song. I haven’t been in RVA since June, but even then I have seen Brown speaking at protests held at Marcus-David Peters Circle; he is an a epitome of actual change happening at a grassroots level.

The music video for “Value”, the penultimate song on SMID features footage of him in action during the protests held in RVA.

Only four tracks are available to listen on the new release as the album drops tomorrow. Today is the last day to pre-order and be entered to win some free SAVEMEIMDROWNING.COM.
