RVA Native, Dominick Phillips just dropped a video for his song simply titled “Black”. The more songs on black empowerment the merrier and this rap song is necessary during these uncertain times for our ever divided nation.

Under his emcee name Dom P., he gives his own two cents on blackness using the infamous “I’m Black, Yall” line from the early 90s film CB4 as his hook. Dom P.’s sporadic flows names black heroes/heroines and tries to encapsulate the black experience in a white world. Phillips expresses his discontent on to stereotypes on what it means to be black and will break barriers and do whatever his heart desires; skateboarding and anime top the list, which are also featured throughout the Studio Futuro directed video.
